Preparatory Physics

One Semester introduction for students who have had little or nor high school physics.

An increasing number of colleges and universities are able to maintain high standards in general college physics by requiring either high school physics or the equivalent as a prerequisite for both calculus and non-calculus based general college physics.

These schools recognize that such distinctions as the difference between

bulletvelocity and acceleration
bulletmass and weight
bullet energy and momentum
bullet voltage and current

are rarely grasped in any first encounter, and that students should be exposed to these concepts before they reach general college physics.

The provision of preparatory physics equalizes the background of students while providing access for students who either have a weak background in high school or who change their educational objectives while in college.
